An Indeterminate heirloom from Tennessee cultivated by the Native American Cherokee tribe. They started to show up in a few seed catalogs in the early 1900's and then kind of disappeared until the mid-1990's. Very productive plants producing many rose to purple colored tomatoes. These are Beefsteak type tomatoes which have deep-red colored flesh and dark shoulders. The fruits average about 10-12 oz, but can grow to 1 pound.
