Japanese New Melon Seeds; 新瓜; ニューメロン; 日本甜寶香瓜; Mini Honeydew.
An open pollinated round melon that is a Japanese specialty. Developed in the 1950s for its fragrance and sweet tasting fruit. The fruit has smooth green skin and white to pale yellow flesh. Each plant produces roughly 4-8 melons.
Maturity: Approx. 110-120 days (40-45 days after fruit setting). Planting season: Late spring/early summer. Germintion rate 85%.

I sowed some seeds directly in the garden bed but started most of them indoors. I had much better luck with the ones I started inside and then transplanted a couple days after sprouting; they seemed to take the transplanting just fine, young as they were. The indoor ones had an impressive germination rate. There were no instructions given with the seeds - my one critique is that it would be really nice to have some basic growing/sowing info since it's not a common variety, but the seedlings look healthy and strong, so I'm very happy with that!
