Produces vigorous, very tall (7 ft./2.2m), and productive plants with purple coloration on leaves. Short and very thick (twice as thick as most okra) pods are best picked at about 3in/8cm and have excellent flavor. Cross-sections of pods look like the Star of David. Grows well in most temperate and warm climates; does not tolerate cold well. Also called Old Fashioned Okra. Pods toughen as they mature; best when picked young, especially for canning or freezing.
