This heirloom tomato variety, Great White, produces beautiful, 16 Oz tomatoes that are almost perfect! These tomatoes are juicy and full of flavor, with low acid and very few seeds. The vigorous plant offers sun protection, and the tomatoes do not often crack. It has 85 days to grow. Indeterminate. In 1987, an elderly woman sent a collection or orange and yellow tomatoes to Gleckler Seed Company for trial purposes. An unexpected white beefsteak tomato began growing among the others, probably the result of a genetic mutation. After several years of cultivation, Gleckler Seed offered this variety for sale. Great White is the largest of the white tomato varieties, and has excellent resistance to sun scald, drought, and cracking.
